Excitement Building at
Eagle Ridge
Eagle Ridge is flying high. The 530-acre golf community in Southern Wake
County has already surpassed its sales totals for all of last year, welcoming
76 families and generating over $17 million in new home sales through October
of this year.
That's 11 sales and nearly $6 million more than the community recorded in
all of 2003, and there's still two months to go in 2004.
Eagle Ridge is now home to nearly 340 families and has generated over $76
million in sales since its grand opening in 1999, according to Polly Jenkins
of Wakefield Development Company, the community's developer.
What's behind the rise of Eagle Ridge ? ?Sales really started to pick up
when we opened our new clubhouse and pro shop in April,? Jenkins said. ?The
momentum started to build right away, and we've been going at a record pace
ever since.?
The community is showing no signs of slowing down, Jenkins said, with over
200 new homes scheduled for completion over the next 18 to 24 months.
Two new neighborhoods are opening this fall, and several new builders are
expected on the community's custom builder team for its Whitworth Estates
custom neighborhood.
KB Homes is opening Ryders Retreat, featuring 102 homes priced from $150,000
to $200,000. The homes will feature fairway or lake locations, or golf and
lake views, Jenkins said.
KHovnian is opening Woods Bluff, featuring 82 homes priced from $240,000
to $300,000. Woods Bluff homes are designed in the Craftsman style offering
side-entry garages and wrap porches, with fairway locations and excellent
views of the course and the new clubhouse, she said.
The new builders to the Eagle Ridge custom team include Cambridge Builders
of Clayton, Central Carolina , Inc. and MCH Custom Homes of Raleigh , and
Dillon Construction of Wendell.
